On behalf of pupils, staff and governors, may I offer you a very warm welcome to Birches Green Primary School. We are a happy, friendly school, bustling with activity. Our website aims to show what a successfully diverse community we are, as well as providing regular updated information for both parents and pupils.

Happy, confident children lead to articulate and curious learners. As an inclusive school, we adopt the ‘Thrive Approach’ to help pupils’ develop and maintain their good mental health and wellbeing. Our provision for pupils with Special Educational Needs and those who attract Pupil Premium funding, allows learners to feel supported, encouraging them to persevere, dream big and aspire to be the best they can be.

At Birches Green we have a vibrant and engaging curriculum based on the four pillars EPIC. We foster learning through the pillars of Environment, Power, Innovation and Community. We promote active learning, where children can develop, explore and excel together, supported by a team of enthusiastic and well qualified staff. At Birches Green, we work hard to develop positive and honest working partnerships with parents, carers, and outside agencies. Children thrive when we work together.

Our rich learning environment blends the old with the new. Our Key Stage Two site was established in 1929 and has recently been modernised to meet the needs of our 21st century learners. Our Key Stage One and Early Years building was rebuilt in 2001. Our environment offers excellent facilities and resources making the space an exciting place to learn.

2022 was a remarkable year for Birches Green. For a very long time, our community called for an all-through Primary School to be situated on the site of the former Junior and Infant Schools. Historically, miles apart in learning and curriculum, yet metres apart in location, Robin Hood Multi Academy Trust gave school leaders the opportunity to build upon the excellent work that has gone before.

On the 1st September 2023 we amalgamated the two schools to become a two-form entry Primary School, Reception to Year Six, with a fifty-two place Nursery.
