Art
Across the years, students develop a wide range of artistic skills. In early years (Nursery and Reception), the focus is on exploring materials and colours, making marks, and moulding shapes. As they progress to Key Stage 1 (Years 1 and 2), students learn techniques like printing with leaves, creating collages, and drawing different types of lines. In Key Stage 2 (Years 3-6), skills become more refined with lessons on painting still life, exploring geometric art, creating 3D sculptures, and even delving into specific art movements and artists like the Multi-artists and William Morris. They also learn about different art forms such as weaving and printing, and use varied media like clay, paint, and textiles. Throughout their journey, students develop a strong foundation in art, building their creative confidence and technical abilities.
