At Birches Green we promote a life long importance for reading and encourage all our pupils to access a wide range of texts and styles of writing within their English and reading lessons. Across school reading is taught through whole class reading sessions, which give the pupils the opportunities to read alongside their peers and teachers. In EYFS, KS1 and LKS2 pupils have group reading sessions matched to their ability levels.
