The Graduated Approach at Birches Green Primary School
At Birches Green Primary School, all children's needs are assessed and provision is planned and delivered as a graduated approach, beginning with high quality teaching that is scaffolded to meet the diverse needs of all learners.
There are 3 stages known as ‘waves’ that outline the provision that we provide for our pupils. Information about each wave can be found below.
Pupil Profiles, Individual Target Plans, SEND Support Provision Plans and EHCPs
Pupil Profiles - All children with special educational needs or disabilities have either a one-page pupil profile or an ITP which outlines their strengths, difficulties, aspirations and provision required in order for them to thrive. Profiles are co-produced with the children in school and shared with parents for feedback and annotation. These are reviewed termly and are accessible to those working directly with the child.
Individual Target Plans (ITPs)
SEN Support Provision Plans (SSPPs)
Education Health Care Plans (EHCPs)
