Wave 2 - Targeted Intervention
Wave 2 includes time allocated, high quality, evidenced based interventions designed to target specific areas and accelerate progress. These interventions can be delivered in small groups where children all have similar desired outcomes.
Some of the interventions we offer in school include:
- Lexia - an online intervention aimed at developing skills associated with phonological awareness and reading fluency.
- Phonics Keep up / Phonics catch up- booster groups and one-to-one intervention.
- Attention Autism - small groups aimed at developing shared attention.
- Speech and Language Groups - targeted groups for children who need early additional speech and language support, designed and monitored by school's independent Speech and Language Therapist.
- Wellcomm - speech and language for children in Early Years and KS1.
- Sensory Circuits - accessed daily for children who need support in regulating their physical sensory needs to keep them at an optimal level for learning.
- The Thrive Approach - for pupils who need a specific therapeutic intervention used to support social-emotional development.
- Social Interaction Groups - for pupils who need support understanding how to understand social cues and understanding social situations.
- Lunch Time Provision (Rainbow Room/Buddy Club) - Available for children from Reception to Y6 who require a lower arousal space and additional time for eating. The provision also extends for those children who find lunchtimes outside overwhelming or need extra help to build social skills through facilitated support.
